Make it your race

Settings save on this browser when storage is available; otherwise they last until refresh. Saving starts a fresh round and keeps scores. The bottom number stays 4; only the top number changes.
Teacher-directed is the default: the teacher tells the winner to tap. Guided mode uses the on-screen review buttons first. Both award once per round.
Notes in each player's bank
Counting elements
Score corrections

Players may overlap elements, put counts anywhere, and use too many or too few notes. No musical answer is checked by the game. Keyboard alternative: press Enter on a bank item to add it, then use arrow keys to move it and Delete to remove it.

Teacher reference

The rhythm bank

This panel is visible on the board. Choose a rhythm before contestants look, then close it and clap or play it yourself. Optional playback gives one measure of count-in, then plays the selected rhythm.
Build your own reference

Tap notes to add them. Tap a note in your reference to remove it.

Saved references stay on this browser when storage is available; otherwise they last until refresh. Available references match the current meter and enabled notes. They never judge the contestants' work.

How to race

Listen first. The teacher counts one measure at a steady tempo, then claps or plays a rhythm. Choose one from the rhythm bank or make up your own.
Build the rhythm and counts. Both players drag notes to their one-line staff and put counts underneath. The bank gives unlimited copies. Nothing snaps, fixes mistakes, or stops overlaps.
Hit Done to lock in.Each Done button locks that player's work. The game records finish order. The other player can keep working until they finish or the teacher starts reviewing.
Teacher checks first, then second.Check the first finisher's notes and counts. If incorrect, check the other contestant. You can do this verbally, or choose Review first finisher to freeze both boards and use the on-screen controls.
The winner taps their score. In the default teacher-directed mode, tell the winner to tap their score to add points and finish the round. Guided scoring in Settings requires on-screen approval first. Only one award is allowed per round. If neither answer is correct, start a new round without awarding points.
Timed turns · 1–3 players: Choose the number of players, enter unique initials, and use the same challenge label and rhythm for a fair comparison. Listen to the performer, press Start timer, build your rhythm and counts, then Stop & lock. GREEN PASS and RED FAIL buttons appear beside the frozen timer. The performer taps PASS if correct: the game logs the play, adds points, clears the staff, and readies the next player. FAIL logs the unsuccessful play and its time without points or a ranked time, then readies the next player. The next timer waits until that player starts it. Rank by fastest correct time or highest score, and open Play log to see each checked attempt. Initials lock after their first logged play; Clear records unlocks them.

Each touch has its own drag state. On phones, two-player boards stack vertically. Settings and custom rhythms are local to this browser; scores, times, and the current round reset on refresh.

Start a new round?

Both workspaces will be cleared. Any unclaimed point will be lost. Scores already earned will stay.

Teacher approval first

Clear all timed-turn records?

This removes the timed-turn scores, times, and play log across all challenge labels in this tab, and unlocks player initials for editing. Two-player race scores are not changed.

VisiTouch board test

Open the standalone HTML file in the browser on the computer connected to your board, not inside a preview window. Use Fullscreen or your browser's fullscreen control. This check does not change the game or send any device information.
Place one finger in each area at the same time, then move both.

  1. Look for two separate moving circles and the two-lane success message. A mouse-only input cannot verify multitouch.
  2. Close this check. Have both contestants drag notes and counts at the same time. Neither side should stop the other.
  3. Press Done on one side. Only that side should lock until you begin review.
  4. Review the first answer, mark it incorrect, then approve the other. Only the approved score should accept one tap.
  5. Start a new round. Workspaces should clear and scores should remain. Try Optional count-in if you plan to use sound.

If only one circle appears, this browser may be receiving a single mouse pointer rather than separate touches. Check the board's touch connection/input mode and try the browser on the board's connected computer. Reopen Board test to repeat the check. Settings and saved rhythms stay only on this browser when storage is available; refresh clears scores and workspaces.

No real-board result is assumed until you test here.
